The Hawaiian Vanilla Company was started in 1996 by the husband and wife team, Jim and Tracy Reddekopp. It was Tracy’s mother, an orchid enthusiast, who suggested that they cultivate vanilla. The adventure of finding and cultivating the best vanilla beans began. The work was hard, but the results are undeniably some of the best vanilla products in the world.
The company’s search for the finest quality vanilla beans has taken them to Mexico, the birthplace of vanilla; to the rain forests of Micronesia; to impoverished Haiti; and, of all places, to New Jersey and Rutgers University to learn and witness some of the highest technology in vanilla research.
Today the Hawaiian Vanilla Company’s goal is to provide our customers with the highest quality products possible. All of our products are hand assembled at the Vanilla Kitchen on the Hamakua Coast of Hawaii.
